PowerTap have been making power meters for over 25 years now and their latest G3 hub is a real work of art: It features wireless transmission to Ant+ headunits like Garmin, is extremely accuracy, and adds only around 100 grams of weight to your bike. Flange spacing, from a wheelbuilding point of view the biggest problem with the previous generation hub, has been widened to improve the wheel’s lateral stiffness. The electronic guts are well-sealed to deal with NZ’s rain.
Wheelworks can build the PowerTap G3 into any number of aluminium or carbon rims to suit training and racing.
PowerTap pricing has been recently been slashed which makes these excellent power meters more affordable. Please get in touch to talk about what rim and spoke options will best suit your needs or have a browse of previous PowerTap wheelsets we’ve built.
A rear PowerTap training wheel will cost around NZ$1500
