Bunny Hop 2026: The most fun you’ll have on a bike this year?

Teams scavenger hunt around Wellington, Easter Saturday

I love running events but they need to have an interesting twist. We've run the Bunny Hop before and it was our most-loved event, so this Easter we're bringing it back.

This is a unique event because your team-of-two can be you and a toddler on a cargo bike cruising around the city chasing chocolate bunnies, or you can choose 3 hours of riding as fast as you can with your training partner.  Same course but totally different vibe.  At the end of the day we all love riding bikes, and I promise you'll have a smile on your face while drinking coffee and eating snacks after the event.

It's half scavenger hunt, half alley-cat race, half bike race*.

  • You'll compete in teams of two to rack up as many points as you can in 3 hours.
  • You’ll only learn of the route and challenges 5 minutes before you head off
  • You'll gain points by making it to checkpoints and completing challenges.
  • Looking for an early lead?  Show up in costume and your team banks 50 points before the Le Mans start gun even goes off.

With help from Carl at Torq Events we've levelled-up the Bunny Hop with nice printed scorecards and real flag checkpoints hidden around Wellington.

Your $40 team-entry ($20 if you use this code) goes towards coffee and post-ride snacks, and we're supporting the Wellington City Mission so that you can do a little good while having a lot of fun.
