Boston’s Ritchey Swiss Cross

Boston built his Swiss Cross with a Force 1x groupset and Garbruck chainring.  He’s matched a 38t chainring to a 11-40 cassette which is the perfect gearing for CX racing as well as faster gravel riding.  Boston’s long-and-low roadie position is evident with the 120mm 3T stem, 38cm compact drop bars, and Selle San Marco saddle.

For wheels and tyres Boston mounted a pair of Vittoria Terrano Wet mud tyres to our 700c OG Overnight wheelset.  Designing gravel bike wheels is really tricky.  The term “gravel” means so many things to different people and often the same bike and wheels are going to be used for a range of uses; touching on road cycling at one end of the spectrum and XC mountain biking at the other.  CX and gravel riding are demanding on the rider and even more demanding on equipment, which is why the OG wheels need to be light and responsive when fitted with narrow tyres but also durable enough for loaded bike packing.
