Gav Turns 10!
In November we’re celebrating Gavin’s 10th anniversary as a Wheelworks Wheel Builder, which is an incredible milestone!
If you’ve met Gav then you know he’s got a huge passion for all things bike. He’s got a massive fleet of bikes and parts which we showcased with our #GavsGarage posts over the first Covid lockdown. He loves racing and has entered hundreds of events and has finished every one of them without a DNF.
Gav brings this passion for bikes into work with him every day. He commutes by bike, and he’s always excited about the upcoming weekend’s event - whether that’s a local race he’s entering or an international event to watch online.
He also applies this love of bikes to every wheel he builds, and he pours a massive amount of passion into his work knowing that he’s helping people get stoked on their bikes.
One of the cool things about Wheelworks wheels is the ability to customise the decals on them and Gav’s always enjoyed creating custom decals for his personal wheelsets.
So to celebrate Gav’s 10 year milestone we’re offering next-level custom decals on new wheelset builds for 10 lucky customers. Send us some pics of your bike and Gavin will work with our in-house graphic designer, Jacob, to create a unique decal design or colour scheme specifically for your new wheels. This is strictly limited to only 10 new wheelsets and there are a few T’s and C’s below.
We’ve also designed this special tin** cup, since tin is the traditional 10 year anniversary present. Gavin isn’t a coffee drinker but loves a good Milo (with an extra scoop of Milo and extra sugar) so these double-walled insulated mugs will keep his drink hotter for longer. We’ve got a limited number of these which we’ll include with all wheelsets built in November and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

I’m so proud and thankful that Gav has been with me for the past decade of Wheelworks history. I can remember interviewing and hiring him like it was yesterday so it’s incredible to think an entire decade has passed. His positivity and calm presence are appreciated in our workshop every single day and I hope he’ll continue to bring his enthusiasm for bikes into our shop for the next decade.

- You’ll see and approve the custom design prior to Gavin building your wheels
- Each specific custom design will only ever be used on that wheelset but we’ll keep the originals on file should re-decalling be required in the future.
