What is the OG Full Custom Alloy?
A wheel built entirely around you. Choose your components, personalise the look, and we'll precision build them in our Wellington workshop.
We've spent a lot of time riding, testing and researching to put together this component range. Everything on the list has been chosen because it's a proven top-tier performer for for gravel, adventure and bikepacking riding.
There are a lot of options here, and that's the point. Luckily the only thing we do better than build custom wheels is help you figure out which components suit your bike and riding best.
Not sure about something? Call or email before you order - we're happy to talk through the options.
We'll call after your purchase to run through your spec and ensure nothing gets built until everything's right.
Rim options
These are the most popular rims we build with - each one tried, tested and proven in our workshop. They cover everything from fast gravel racing to heavy touring, and we know they work because we've built hundreds of wheels around them. Not quite what you're looking for or after something different? Get in touch - we can source other rims to suit your build.

Hub options
All the hubs we sell can be ridden hard and maintained easily.
We'll ensure they fit your current bike but they're also versatile and adaptable enough to move to your next one. Want to go deeper? Check out the hub deep-dives on our hub portal for the full rundown on each option or get in touch with your hub related questions.
Dynamo hub options
We're big fans of the SON 28 and 29s hubs. The SON 28 typically adds $350 on the Dial, DT Swiss 350, or Hope Pro5 builds, and a little less if you choose more expensive rear hub options.
The SON 29s can't be used on every model rim because of its limited spoke count options and 2:1 lacing pattern but typically adds $500.
Drop us a note and we can see which model hub is best suited to your wheels and give you a firm price.
Spoke options
We offer a range of spokes from Alpina and Berd.
The spoke choice comes down to how the wheel feels: weight, stiffness, liveliness and comfort. Want the full picture? Check out the spoke deep-dives on our spoke portal for a closer look at each option, or get in touch and we'll help you choose.

SON Dynamo
Colours used: Satin Aluminium
There is one dynamo which is lightyears (see what i did there?) ahead of the competition: SON. Yes, they're expensive, but their durability and bearing longevity is unmatched and that's super important on dynamo hubs as their bearings are no user-serviceable. SON have a 5 year bearing warranty but even the super old ones we see still have great bearings.
The 29S is the latest hub from SON and uses a unique barrel connector rather than the typical spade connectors found on most hubs. This is a much cleaner, more modern system of connecting the hub to your lights and electrical gadgets.
For this pair of wheels we matched the SON front hub with a Pro5 rear, and laced them both to the DT Swiss GR-531 gravel rims. Alpina spokes hold everything together

Rear wheel: Hope Pro5 Rear Hub (J-bend, Center Lock, 142x12 thru-axle, 32 hole, Black), DT Swiss GR-531 (622mm / 29", 32 hole, Black), Spokes: Extralite Round Black, Spoke nipples: Black Brass
